Coinbase adds BRD team, bolstering wallet, web3 aspirations

Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) will acquire BRD, a company with its own crypto wallet, in a move that will help the cryptocurrency exchange accelerate its web3 adoption, it said via tweet. "The team brings deep expertise in self-custody for crypto wallets, which will help Wallet enable more people to safely and securely access the decentralized world of crypto," according a post by the Coinbase (COIN) Wallet Twitter account. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. BRD has more than 10M customers, according to a post by co-founders Adam Traidman and Aaron Voisine. "At this time, nothing will change in the BRD wallet app," they said, adding that eventually BRD wallet users will have the option to migrate to self custody with the Coinbase (COIN) Wallet.
