Ontario securities regulator warns about some unregistered crypto exchanges

The Ontario Securities Commission on Tuesday has warned investors about a number of cryptocurrency exchanges that are not registered to operate in the Canadian province.In its latest investor alert, the OSC cautioned investors about "possible harmful or illegal activity in progress," and mentioned some crypto exchanges "performing activities that may pose a risk to investors."Those unregistered exchanges include Kucoin, PhenoFX, Crestswiftrade.com and FX-BTC Trade, according to the release.Kucoin already got hit with enforcement actions by the OSC towards the end of June after the unregistered crypto trading platform allowed Ontario-based traders to buy and sell securities.Despite mounting recession fears, Kucoin hired over 300 staff.
