NY Digital Investment Group (NYDIG) Unveils Lightning Accelerator Project

Executive director of the New York Digital Investments Group subsidiary (NYDIG) and Stone Ridge Holdings Group CEO unexpectedly appeared at BitBlockBoom in Austin, Texas, on August 26, 2022, to make a surprise announcement. Through his Stone Ridge shareholder letter, co-authored paper, “On Impossible Things Before Breakfast,” participation in the MicroStrategy business strategy program, and an interview with Michael Saylor, Stevens has long been a proponent of Bitcoin. In the Bitcoin sector, NYDIG has made several investments and loans. Notably, they settled some debt by returning 26,200 miners to them. In a recent partnership with the New York Yankees, the company gained notoriety by enabling employees to change their pay into Bitcoin. Lightning Accelerator Project By NYDIG A Lightning accelerator project is set to launch by NYDIG, Stevens shared from the Bitcoin Commons. The accelerator aims toward individual founders and small teams, developers working on Lightning, Taro and Covenants, pre-seed, seed, and series A companies. They will avail transportation and lodging for participants from anywhere in the world. Cohorts of the program will last for eight weeks. Per cohort, there will be 8 – 12 teams – mentors of the highest caliber with office hours. The fellows will only include non-remote individuals.
