CME's Micro Bitcoin futures volume pushes past 100K mark in six days

Indicating strong investor interest in crypto assets, CME Group's (CME) Micro Bitcoin futures volume exceeds 100K contracts in the first six days of the new contract's trading."We are pleased to see strong customer adoption and support of our new Micro Bitcoin futures contract early on," said Tim McCourt, CME Group global head of Equity Index and Alternative Investment Products.The contracts are cash-settled to the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate, which serves as a once-a-day reference rate of the U.S. dollar price of bitcoin.In recent trading, bitcoin -2.0% at ~$55.9K.CME launched the contracts, which represent one-tenth of a bitcoin in size, on May 3.
