Crusoe Energy Sues Competitor Alkane Midstream for Patent Infringement

On August 22, 2022, a Gas-to-Bitcoin flare mitigation business, Crusoe Energy, sued Alkane Midstream. The Gas-to-Bitcoin infrastructure company demands a lawsuit against Alkane’s patent infringement from the Denver division of Colorado’s federal court. According to the lawsuit acquired by a press release, Alkane is to blame for Crusoe’s loss of employment because two gas and oil refiners broke their agreements with the business in November 2021. In the case against Alkane, the two gas and oil producers go by the term “Colorado Producers” but are not specifically named. Crusoe’s lawsuit states that Alkane violated its patents in Colorado and interfered with its current and future commercial relationships there. The complaint claims that Alkane “committed, aided, assisted, or participated in the tortious act of patent infringement.” Alkane CEO Calls The Trial “Disappointing” Alkane CEO Ryan Blazei described the trial as “disappointing” and “a little surprising.” Some of the allegations made in the complaint, according to Blazei, will be regretted. The CEO added that there were no issues because Alkane had cooperated with Crusoe Energy before the filing.
