Justin Drake, a leading researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, predicted that Solana’s period of rapid growth and influence, often referred to as its “golden age,” is coming to an end. According to Drake, Solana's current competitive advantages in speed and throughput are not sustainable in the long term and will not pose a significant threat to Ethereum's dominance in the blockchain ecosystem. Here are Predictions Drake noted that Ethereum relies on Layer 2 scaling solutions like Optimistic and ZK-rollups to address transaction speed and cost challenges while maintaining security and decentralization at the base layer.
